These drawings are studies for tapestries. Tapestries take months to weave. Drawings take days. I fell in love with a #6 pencil during my residency at the Hambidge Center. Like the weaving process, I build these drawings line on line, layering graphite. This gives me time to consider each shape as part of a whole, to edit and work through ideas.
